It’s June, and this might seem frivolous, but any football player will agree: Games are won in the spring and summer. They’re won in one specific place, too: the weight room.
That brings us to Oregon’s weight room and Oregon strength and conditioning coach Aaron Feld. He will not make any tackles for the Ducks, but he has been training those who will. And his resume — well, look at this.

That’s a tasty 405-pound bench for three reps, no assist, all muscle. As a writer whose own bench press mark exceeds 300 but does not sniff 405, that is very impressive.
Plus, the mustache. There hasn’t been a mustache that strong since the subject of the overly manly man meme lived.
Does this have all that much to do with the future of Oregon football? It does, a little. Feld is pushing the next flock of Ducks to reach new heights in the weight room, which is always a good thing.
Is it a tad trivial? Perhaps. Are these the last 48 hours of this site’s operation? Indeed they are, so we’re going to highlight Feld’s strength, his minimal chest bounce, his commitment to shouting with each rep and his immediate turn to the camera to talk smack.
Think you’re the best thing since sliced bread, freshmen? Coach Feld is here with his ‘stache to give you 405 doses of reality.
