For the first time in nine years the Oregon Ducks were not included in the preseason Coaches Poll.

The Ducks received 37 points in the initial coaches poll, which would rank them No. 7 of all Pac-12 teams.
The Pac-12 had four teams in the Coaches Poll: No. 4 USC, No. 7 Washington, No. 14 Stanford and No. 25 Utah. Washington State and Colorado did not make the poll, but did receive more points than the Ducks.
The last time the Ducks were not ranked in the Top 25 was in 2007. That was Chip Kelly’s first year at Oregon and the team was at one point ranked No. 2 in the country before former quarterback Dennis Dixon’s knee injury derailed a national championship caliber team.
