A defensive tackle from Nashville, Tenn., Reitmaier was the 10th-highest rated prospect among his position, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
He was recruited by former Oregon defensive coordinator Brady Hoke, and originally decided to stay with the Ducks after Hoke was not retained by head coach Willie Taggart following the firing of Mark Helfrich.
Reitmaier enrolled early at Oregon and took part in spring practice. Now, with his decision to transfer out, he’ll have to sit out this upcoming campaign if he switches to another FBS school. The Ducks, meanwhile, lose some important depth along their defensive line.
