One of the highest-rated 2019 prospects in California, not to mention the country, still has a very long list of teams he is considering. But the 14 schools that made 5-star cornerback Chris Steele’s list last month now know when the final cutdown will happen.
The date is officially set. I will be committing On July 7th… #Shhh

Steele, ranked by 247Sports as the No. 27 player in the 2019 recruiting class, sent that tweet from Norman, Okla., where he’s wrapping up an official visit with the Sooners. The St. John Bosco High School star is set to visit LSU on April 21 and also has an official scheduled for Florida in September, though that one would come more than two months after his expected commitment date.
California, Oregon and USC were on Steele’s most recent list but none have been able to get him on campus this year. He made an unofficial visit to USC last September, a month after de-committing from UCLA where he had pledged to in January 2017.
