It looks like the top brass at ESPN wants its top talent to catch the first-ever matchup pitting USC’s Sam Darnold and UCLA’s Josh Rosen against one another.
ESPN's No. 1 team of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Maria Taylor are calling Saturday's #USC game against UCLA.

While the Los Angeles rivalry of USC and UCLA is annually touted as one of the nation’s premier games — and this year’s edition could feature a pair of top 5 NFL draft picks next spring — the 2017 edition could fall short of any high expectations.
UCLA (5-5, 3-4) has one of the worst defenses of any Power 5 team. Darnold may not even have to display his arm outside of extending it to hand the ball off to Ronald Jones II.
As for USC, they’ve already locked up the Pac-12 South division title and their College Football Playoff chances are minuscule at best. Their matchup with UCLA holds far less meaning as a result.
Nevertheless, viewers will be treated to the cream of the crop when it comes to ESPN’s broadcast team.
