Alabama and Georgia played for college football’s national championship last season, with the Crimson Tide taking down the Bulldogs for the title. Both are expected to be strong again in 2018 but like with every power program the focus is just as much on 2019 and beyond as it is the upcoming year.
However, Alabama and Georgia may be hard-pressed to land 4-star linebacker Laiatu Latu as they’re the only schools from outside the Pac-12 to make his top 8:

The 6-foot-5, 242-pound Latu has California, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC and Washington on his list along with the title game participants. Ranked No. 175 in the country by 247Sports, Latu is considered the nation’s 11th-best outside linebacker and No. 21 prospect from California.
Latu, from Carmichael, Calif., took an unofficial visit to Stanford in May and has been to Cal as well. Official visits should be on his schedule sometime soon as the prospect who had 17 tackles for loss and 12 sacks as a junior for Jesuit High School weighs his college choices.
