The inaugural 3-on-3 college basketball national championship tournament pools were revealed on Thursday. There was a noticeable omission for pool play — the Pac-12.
In an embarrassing lapse in time management and negative PR, the Pac-12 was late to RSVP for the event, per the event’s Twitter feed.
The tournament is a 32-team 3-on-3 tournament for players who have exhausted their NCAA eligibility. One team from each Division I basketball conference is represented at the competition, expect the Pac-12.
Games will be played at halfcourt and last 10 minutes or whoever scores 21 points first. A normal shot is worth one point and the typical three-pointer is worth two points. All teams will be self-coached.
The tournament takes places this weekend in San Antonio at the Final Four. The winning team takes home $50,000.
