The winner of the in-state matchup will face the winner of the game between Oklahoma State and Texas A&M the following day, while the two losers will square off earlier in the day.
The game marks the second season in a row the Panthers and Nittany Lions have played at a neutral site. Last season, Pitt defeated Penn State, 81-73, in the Never Forget Tribute Classic in Newark, N.J.
Penn State leads the all-time series 75-72, though Pitt has won the past seven meetings.
