Alan Saunders of Pittsburgh Sports Now reports Connelly will be a preferred walk-on with a chance to earn a scholarship.
Yep. Preferred walk-on. Could change in a hurry if the guys they have now don’t work out, though.

Connelly, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, attends Beaver High School, about a 40-minute drive from downtown Pittsburgh. He both kicks and punts for his high school team, according to his profile at Hurl.com. Because he’s a preferred walk-on, the Pitt 2018 recruiting class rating remains unchanged. Next year’s recruiting class for the Panthers is rated 11th out of 14 ACC schools according to 247Sports. This year, Pitt had 25 recruits, including four 4-star prospects, and finished seventh in the conference on the 247Sports composite rankings.
