It has been a common refrain from ACC coaches this offseason and now Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi is no stranger to it.
During an appearance on ESPN on Monday, Narduzzi told ESPN’s Heather Dinich that “there’s no question the ACC is the best.”
The ACC currently holds the national championship, with Clemson winning the title last season in its second straight appearance. Florida State also is recently removed from a national championship, giving the conference quite a claim for its success in recent years.
Earlier this summer, Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher made his case that the ACC leads the way right now in college football.
“I think we’ve established ourselves as the premier conference in college football,” Fisher said Thursday. “We’ve had two teams win [national championships] in the last four years, and [the Clemson Tigers] also were the runner-up.”
Boston College coach Steve Addazio also made his statement that it’s “not even debatable” that the ACC is the best conference.
The league has cemented itself well with its recent pair of national titles, but it also has gone 10-4 against the SEC in 2016-17, with a 4-1 mark in bowl games.
