Former Stanford tight end Coby Fleener is in search of a new job.
The New Orleans Saints released the veteran tight end on Monday, per the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin.
Fleener signed a five-year, $36 million contract with the Saints in 2016 but never quite lived up to expectations in New Orleans. He started his pro career with the Indianapolis Colts when the team selected him in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
The Stanford product has 255 catches, 3,080 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns in his NFL career. He was a first-team All-Pac-12 member at Stanford in 2011.
Fleener should be able to find another spot in the NFL even though his productions been down in recent years.
