Nick Oar does not get an abundance of at bats for the Stanford baseball team, though when he sees the plate, there is no doubting he makes the most of it.
Pinch hitting in the top of the ninth inning against Oregon State, with the Cardinal down 6-5, Oar hit a home run to deep left center field, tying the game 6-6. It marked his third pinch hit home run in the last seven games, only this one extended the game and prevented what could have been an Oregon State sweep.

In the top of the 10th, Will Matthiessen hit a three-run, bases-clearing double, staking the Cardinal to a 9-6 lead it wouldn’t relinquish.
The win kept Stanford, which is 38-8 on the year, atop the Pac-12 standings with seven regular season games remaining, six of which will be Pac-12 play.
Oregon State has eight games remaining, with series against the Southern California teams, USC and UCLA.
