Syracuse will have some champions in the crowd cheering on the Orange on Sunday in Detroit when they face Michigan State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Jamie Boeheim, Orange coach Jim Boeheim’s daughter, and her Jamesville-Dewitt teammates are making the trip to Little Ceasars Arena a day after claiming their third consecutive New York Class A girls basketball state championship. The Red Rams defeated Elmont 64-51 to win the title.
“We’re getting on a plane tomorrow morning with my mom to go and watch SU beat Michigan State,” Jamie Boeheim told Nolan Weidner of Syracuse.com.

Jim Boeheim could not be in attendance for Jamie’s state title run because of the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse began its tournament run with a win over Arizona State in its First Four matchup in Dayton, Ohio. The Orange then upset No. 6 seed TCU in the round of 64 on Friday.
A victory over Michigan State would send Jim Boeheim to the Sweet 16 for the 18th time in his tenure. Maybe the Red Rams can help will the Orange to another victory.
