TCU lost one of its commitments three days before the early signing period when Louisiana cornerback Eddie Smith re-opened his recruitment Sunday night.
The 3-star defensive back from Slidell (La.) Salmen announced his decision following an official visit to TCU over the weekend. He recently visited Missouri as well, and he has an offer from the new coaching staff at Tennessee as well.

Smith’s de-commitment came just before the beginning of the early signing period, which lasts from Wednesday through Friday. However, Smith was not planning to sign early. The Frogs expect most if not all of their current commitments to sign this week.
The Frogs now have 19 commitments for the Class of 2018, leaving about six spots to fill by the traditional National Signing Day in February. TCU’s class is currently ranked No. 17 in the country and No. 3 in the Big 12, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
