Jalen Reagor and Omar Manning were two of the biggest names in TCU’s 2017 recruiting class, and Texas Football’s Brady Keane says they are two of TCU’s top true freshman to watch this season.
The pair of 4-star wideouts both come from the Dallas-Forth Worth metroplex area. They are both expected to make contributions right away in a receiving corps that led the nation in dropped passes in 2016.
“Omar Manning (Lancaster) and Jalen Reagor (Waxahachie) join a talented group of receivers that at times underperformed last season,” Keane wrote, “leaving room for the explosive duo to carve out roles as weapons for Kenny Hill.”
Reagor has reportedly already been impressive during the team’s first few preseason practices. Manning has been sidelined by an injury. They join 4-star quarterback recruit Shawn Robinson and 4-star guard Wes Harris, who both enrolled in January and participated in spring practices.
Reagor caught 52 passes for 1,008 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior at Waxahachie last year. Manning had 45 receptions for 742 yards and 8 touchdowns at Lancaster.
Harris was another player Keane mentioned who could help the Frogs this season. Robinson, meanwhile, has already won the backup quarterback position and has impressed Hill and the coaches since stepping on campus.
TCU opens the season at home against Jackson State on Sept. 2.
