Scott Cross will remain in the Dallas-Fort Worth area after he was fired by UTA.
According to a report from Brandon George of the Dallas Morning-News, Cross has been hired by TCU, and will serve as an assistant on Jamie Dixon’s staff.
Former UT-Arlington men's basketball head coach Scott Cross has been hired as a TCU assistant coach under Jamie Dixon, source said. It's a good landing spot for Cross, who was let go March 26. TCU is on the rise, and Cross should still have HC opportunities soon down the line.

Cross might not be with Dixon and the Horned Frogs for long. He was 225-161 in his tenure at UTA, and his most recent team finished with a 21-13 record. Cross was the only head coach with a winning record in UTA’s history, and is a former player.
TCU is on the rise as well. The Horned Frogs went to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 20 years during the 2017-2018 season, but fell in the first round to Syracuse, 57-52.
The Horned Frogs finished the 2017-2018 season 21-12 with a No. 5 ranking in the rugged Big 12 Conference. While it’s a bit of a disappointment considering the Horned Frogs were picked to finish No. 3 in the conference in preseason polling, the Horned Frogs still made school history by making the postseason.
