When the TCU Horned Frogs take on Stanford in the Alamo Bowl, they’ll have to face the the Cardinal’s best player.
Bryce Love, Stanford’s star running back and one of three Heisman Trophy finalists, announced Wednesday that he won’t be skipping the bowl game.

The junior has been a statistical marvel this season. He’s averaging 8.3 yards per carry and 164.4 yards per game on the ground, and has scored 17 touchdowns. Against Arizona State on September 30, he tallied 301 yards on 25 carries — that’s an average of 12 yards every time he touched the ball — and hit paydirt three times.
Stanford is decidedly worse without him. The Cardinal only managed 15 points and 81 rushing yards against Oregon State when Love was out with an injury.
TCU’s rushing defense has been strong, allowing only 99.8 yards on the ground per game, the fourth-fewest in the country. But the Horned Frogs have yet to play a running back as good as Love.
