For the second straight year, the TCU Horned Frogs are going back to California.
TCU announced a 2017-18 nonconference matchup with the USC Trojans on Monday. The game is set to take place at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Dec. 7, as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic.

The Horned Frogs played a game in Los Angeles as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, beating Nevada 84-80. The USC matchup will essentially be a road game, against a USC team that went 24-12 last season and narrowly missed an NCAA Tournament bid.
It will be a homecoming of sorts for TCU coach Jamie Dixon, who was born in North Hollywood attending high school in California before attending TCU.
The game will be played as part of a triple-header at STAPLES Center, along with games between New Mexico and Saint Mary’s, and a matchup between Nevada and Arizona State.
TCU has played USC twice in its history, as part of a home-and-home series in 2010 and 2011. The Horned Frogs went 1-1 in those matchups, both played under head coach Jim Christian. TCU won at home in 2010, and lost at USC in 2011.
TCU is expected to build off a 2017-18 season that saw the Horned Frogs break a long NCAA Tournament drought. They went 21-12 and 9-9 in Big 12 play last season, earning a No. 6 seed before losing in the first round to Syracuse.
