TCU senior defensive end Mat Boesen made the most of his final performance at Amon Carter Stadium.
Boesen has tormented the Baylor offense with a school-record 5 1/2 sacks early in the fourth quarter of the Horned Frogs’ game against the Bears.
Boesen broke the previous record of 4 1/2, set by Vincent Pryor against Texas Tech in 1994 and David Spradlin against Baylor in 1987.
The senior TCU defensive end wasone of the bright spots for a TCU defense that struggled early against the Bears. TCU leads 45-22 in a game that has been closer than expected and prompted a couple of vintage tirades along the TCU sidelines for fiery Coach Gary Patterson.
With Baylor being forced to pass for most of the of the game because of the deficit, Boesen had more and more opportunities to set the new program mark. He now has 11 1/12 sacks and 13 tackles for loss on the season.
