TCU football is using Star Wars Day as an opportunity to remind people of its dominance over the Empire that is the Texas Longhorns.
Every year, college athletic programs tweet out fun Star Wars-related graphics and videos on May 4. But this year offered a chance for the Horned Frogs to also expertly troll Texas in a whole new way. Riffing on the day’s catch phrase, “May the Fourth be with you,” TCU brought everyone’s attention to its four straight victories over the Longhorns.

The Horned Frogs have owned the series since moving to the Big 12, winning five out of six matchups with the Longhorns since 2012, with a few of them coming in blowout fashion. Texas coach Tom Herman even said before the 2017 game that his players were tired of being “embarrassed” by TCU.
The Longhorns put up a better fight last season in Fort Worth. The 17-point win was TCU’s smallest margin of victory against Texas since a 20-13 win in 2012. However, the outcome was exacerbated by TCU’s dominance defensively and Darius Anderson’s ankle-breaking touchdown run to close out the game. He even threw out the “Horns Down” sign for good measure.
TCU plays Texas in Austin this year, going for its sixth win over the Longhorns in seven tries. The Horned Frogs haven’t achieved that feat since 1932-1938, when Dutch Meyer was coaching the team and winning national championships.
The Horned Frogs and Longhorns face off Saturday, Sept. 22.
