Ja’Marr Chase delayed his college commitment once already, and it’s now been pushed back again.
The 4-star receiver from Metairie, La., was supposed to announce his decision between LSU and TCU on NFL Network at halftime during the 7-on-7 finals at The Opening on Monday afternoon. However, his time slot was pushed back when another top recruit, 4-star defensive end Greg Emerson, made a surprise commitment to Tennessee.
Chase had planned to commit on Sunday, his grandmother’s birthday, but rescheduled so that his family at home could watch his announcement on television. After he got bumped, Chase elected not to make his announcement on Monday at all, according to SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman.
The wideout said he’ll likely wait until next week to announce his decision.
Chase is rated as the No. 40 wide receiver in the country and a top-200 prospect overall, according to the 247Sports Composite. All 11 crystal ball predictions on 247Sports have him picking the Horned Frogs.
