Ja’Marr Chase will reportedly put his decision on hold after NFL Network bumped his announcement earlier this week.
The 4-star receiver from Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel told SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman that he isn’t in a hurry to make an announcement anymore. Chase had planned to announce his decision between TCU and LSU on NFL Network on Monday. The network didn’t air Chase’s commitment, however, instead opting to cover the surprise commitment of 4-star defensive end Greg Emerson to Tennessee.
“I’ve been thinking about what I want to do right now and I might just wait,” Chase said. “I don’t know if it was a sign or not [that NFL Network bumped his announcement], but I want to make sure that I’m right, so I’m going to take my time.”
Chase had previously said that he might announce his decision next week. The network reportedly offered to let him make his commitment on NFL Total Access this week.
He was originally going to announce on Sunday, his grandmother’s birthday. He pushed his decision back at the request of the network.
TCU was considered the favorite to land Chase’s commitment Monday. Now he said he needs to think about his decision more. He’ll make visits to Florida and Georgia this summer.
Chase is currently the 40th-ranked receiver in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.
