Beck hails from George Ranch High School in Rosenberg, Texas, near Houston. He was originally committed to the Red Raiders before switching to Minnesota.
But after a year with the Golden Gophers, Beck has decided to transfer to Texas Tech. He redshirted in his only year with Minnesota.
Coming out of high school, Beck was a 3-star prospect, according to 247Sports. He’s listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds. Beck will have a good chance to make an immediate impact on the Texas Tech defense, especially in the pass-happy Big 12.
