There are several routes to winning a baseball game in walk-off fashion. Texas Tech took the most unusual one on Friday vs. Oklahoma.
And for the Sooners, well, it was the route that nobody ever wants to take in getting walked-off against.
The Red Raiders posted a 5-4 extra-innings victory vs. Oklahoma on walk-off balk in the 10th inning, creating for one of the rarest endings you’ll ever see to a baseball game.
The fateful move, committed by Oklahoma freshman Cade Cavalli, was a fairly obvious one. And that was what it ultimately took for Texas Tech to improve to 31-8 on the season, with a 9-4 mark in Big 12 play.

And it’s unlikely that we’ll see a baseball game end like that again anytime soon.
Game 2 of the three-game series in Lubbock, Texas between the Red Raiders and Sooners is set for Saturday back at Rip Griffin Park. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
