Texas Tech defensive end Noah Jones will have surgery after suffering a knee injury during spring practice, head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced Tuesday.
According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Don Williams, Jones suffered the injury during the team’s scrimmage in Midland, Texas in late March. Jones will have the surgery some time in the next couple of weeks.

Kingsbury did not give a timetable for Jones’ recovery. The redshirt sophomore appeared in one game last season, coming off the bench against at Kansas. The former 3-star recruit signed with Texas Tech over offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Navy and Army.
The Red Raiders have their spring game Saturday night at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.
