The Texas Tech Red Raiders are in a battle for Class of 2019 cornerback Markel Reed, who named his Top-4 schools on Sunday.
Reed was once committed to Baylor, but seems to have eliminated the Bears as a choice. He disclosed his list of schools he’s considering on Twitter.

Texas Tech made the cut, as did Kansas State, Arkansas and SMU. The Red Raiders would do well to win this recruiting battle, especially against another Big 12 school in Kansas State.
Reed is a 3-star prospect from Temple, Tex. He’s fairly big for a corner at a listed 6-foot-1 and 166 pounds, according to 247Sports. That site’s Crystal Ball predictor has Reed choosing Arkansas with 100 percent certainty.
The Red Raiders will try to sway Reed their way. Texas Tech has just two players committed for next year so far, none of which are defensive backs.
