Currently, 247 has projected that Banks will go to Texas. He is a four-star in the 247 Sports Composite, a combination of recruiting rankings from multiple sites.
Also listed in Banks’s top five are Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU, and Alabama.
Texas has four commits in the class of 2019, and all of them have four-star or higher rankings. Were Banks to commit to the Longhorns, as he’s predicted to, he would be the first defensive back in the class of 2019 for Texas, who already boasts a very talented group of defensive backs in 2018.
Texas has had a ton of success on the recruiting trail in the Tom Herman era. The Longhorns’ class of 2018 was ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 and No. 3 nationally by 247 Sports. Texas has consistently recruited well over the years, and has yet to see talent truly transfer to wins on the field, but Herman’s teams could be the ones to break the Texas drought of successful seasons.
