Ten schools are still standing following Buford (Ga.) running back Derrian Brown trimming his list of possible destinations.
The Texas Longhorns are among those still in the mix, alongside LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Florida State, Ohio State, and Penn State.

Of those still in the mix, Auburn is currently considered the front-runner for the 4-star Georgia ball carrier, with the Tigers owing each of his two Crystal Ball projections. For Texas to have a more substantial say in how Brown’s recruitment plays out going forward, getting the 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect to the Forty Acres will be significant. The Longhorns offered in early May, but he’s yet to take a trip to Texas.
Ranked as the nation’s No. 219 player and the No. 13 running back, per the 247Sports composite, Brown is one of seven uncommitted running backs with a Texas offer. The Longhorns are currently without a commit at the position.
