Breckyn Hager has been growing out his hair ever since he got to Texas in 2015, and he’ll only cut it for one occasion: winning the Big 12 championship.
He said that he’ll let quarterback Sam Ehlinger cut it on the podium of the Big 12 championship, provided Texas wins, according to Danny Davis of the Austin American-Statesman.
Texas DL Breckyn Hager said he hasn’t cut his hair since he arrived at Texas in 2015. Said he’ll let Sam Ehlinger cut it on the podium if the Longhorns win the Big 12. “We’ve all got goals,” said the senior. #HookEm pic.twitter.com/AncXYE3luw

Hager and Ehlinger were teammates at Austin Westlake, and both elected to stay in their home cities to play for the Longhorns.
Hager has recorded 10 sacks and 22.5 tackles for a loss during his three-year career with Texas. He’s made starts at linebacker as well as defensive end, and played in every Texas football game the past two years.
Ehlinger started multiple games for Texas during the 2017 season, and threw for 1,915 yards in his limited time at the position. He completed 57.5 percent of his passes, and threw 7 interceptions in addition to 11 touchdowns.
While Hager and Ehlinger don’t have secured starting spots, it’s likely each of them will start multiple games for the Longhorns during the 2018 season.
