Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns are currently amid a major recruiting weekend on the Forty Acres, and the stakes just got much higher with a massive addition joining that list.
Per a report from Inside Texas’ Justin Wells, key Longhorns target and recent Texas A&M commit DeMarvin Leal is making a surprise visit to Texas this weekend.

247Sports’ EJ Holland later confirmed that this will be an official visit for the high-caliber talent from Judson High School in Converse, Texas.
This is significant news for the Longhorns.
An elite defensive tackle at a position of need for Texas, Leal was widely considered a Longhorns lean at this time last month. That changed when Leal traveled to College Station for his Texas A&M official visit. The buzz surrounding that visit quickly pointed toward a major push from Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies, and reports indicated that a commitment could come before he headed back to the San Antonio area.
Leal elected to wait a few days, but on April 18, the 6-foot-4, 280-pound prospect pledged to Texas A&M, marking a key miss for Texas. As expected the Longhorns have continued to push for one of their most critical targets this cycle, and those efforts netted Texas an official visit.
Leal is ranked as the nation’s No. 71 player, the No. 5 defensive tackle and the No. 11 player in Texas, per the 247Sports composite.
