Four-star wide receiver Garrett Wilson is dismissing the idea that he’s already decided where he will be committing.
The Austin (Texas) Lake Travis recruit took an official visit to Ohio State over the weekend. He told the Austin American-Statesman’s Mike Craven that he enjoyed the trip, but rumors that he is already planning to pick the Buckeyes are false. He conceded Ohio State is currently his leader, but only because he’s already taken a visit there.
“It was definitely a good visit but I’m going into both official visits with no clear leader,” Wilson said in a text message to the Statesman. “Once I take this Texas official visit, I’ll start to think about where I want to end up. I’d say Ohio State has an edge just because I just took my official visit and I haven’t taken one to Texas.”
Wilson will take an official visit to Texas this weekend for the Longhorns’ spring game. He previously said he would announce his commitment “shortly after” both visits.
Texas has one receiver committed for 2019 in 4-star Jordan Whittington. Ohio State doesn’t have any receivers committed in this class yet.
The Longhorns will hold their spring game Saturday, April 21, at 6:30 p.m. CT.
