More than 20 prospects flocked to the Forty Acres this weekend for Texas’ Heat Wave pool party, and one will return home as a Longhorns pledge. On Saturday afternoon, just days after adding an offer from Tom Herman’s program, Richmond (Texas) George Ranch weakside defensive end Peter Mpagi announced his commitment to Texas.

A rising 3-star edge rusher, Mpagi pledged to Texas over offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Cal, Houston, Nebraska, Northwestern and Washington, among others.
Mpagi holds 24 offers.
Listed at 6-foot-4, 224 pounds, Mpagi totaled 33 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 9 sacks as a junior. He’s ranked as the nation’s No. 54 weakside defensive end and the No. 85 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports composite.
With Mpagi in the mix, the Longhorns’ 2019 class is now up to 10 members and ranked No. 11 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12.
