Texas baseball is currently involved in a winner-take-all contest with Tennessee Tech in Game 3 of the Austin Super Regional, with the winner advancing to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
Of course, the noon CT start on a Monday wasn’t exactly the ideal time for a lot of fans who wanted to cheer the Longhorns on at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. So Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte had a little fun in trying to pack his park.
Our boss has a note for your boss.@TexasBaseball needs y’all to cheer loud at UFCU Disch-Falk Field or watching on ESPN2 tomorrow. A trip to Omaha is at stake! #HookEm🤘 #RoadToOmaha pic.twitter.com/trCkZC607u

Whether employers will actually honor this note is an entirely different story. But the ballpark had nothing short of a full house on hand to watch the teams battle it out for a trip to TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.
Texas radio announcer Craig Way said during the game broadcast on the Longhorn Network that more than 7,000 fans went through the turnstiles on Monday.
Texas is looking to make it back to the College World Series for the first time since 2014. The Longhorns have made the trip to Omaha three times in the last decade, the other instances being 2011 and 2009.
Tennessee Tech has never qualified for the College World Series.
