Coveted New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton cornerback Chester Kimbrough hasn’t visited the Texas Longhorns since last summer.
That will change in the coming weeks, as the elite Louisiana product has scheduled an official visit to Texas for May 4, per a report from 247Sports’ EJ Holland.
Among a handful of cornerback prospects whom Texas is in pursuit of, Kimbrough will arrive on the Forty Acres next month as a Nike The Opening finalist with offers from a wide variety of the top programs in the country, including Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Florida and Mississippi State, among others. However, Kimbrough named the Gators as his outright favorite just days ago following an April 14 unofficial visit to Florida, which, of course, means Texas has plenty of work to do during Kimbrough’s official visit.
To this point, all 11 of Kimbrough’s Crystal Ball projections favor Florida.
Kansas was previously considered a major player in his recruitment, and of course, after extending an offer just over a month ago on March 15, Texas will now attempt to make itself a viable option during Kimbrough’s official visit.
A 5-foot-10, 168-pound prospect, Kimbrough is ranked as the nation’s No. 258 player, No. 24 cornerback and the No. 11 player in Louisiana, per the 247Sports composite.
