Texas men’s basketball unveiled its 2018-19 nonconference slate on Thursday.
The Longhorns will open the regular season with Eastern Illinois on Nov. 6 at Frank Erwin Center. Texas will then head to El Paso, Texas, to face Arkansas in the Armed Forces Classic on Nov. 9.
Texas will participate in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational championship round at Orleans Arena. The four-team field includes Texas, Michigan State, North Carolina and UCLA.
Pairings have not been set for the championship round, however, Texas will face Louisiana Monroe and The Citadel in the regional round in Austin, Texas.
Texas will face coach Smaka Shart’s former program, VCU, on Dec. 5 in Austin, Texas. The Longhorns will also play home games against Purdue, Providence and UT Arlington.
Texas will end nonconference play with the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Jan. 26. The Longhorns will face Georgia this time around for the annual interconference event.
