When you’re the quarterback of the Texas Longhorns, you’re going to have some young fans. This goes double for Sam Ehlinger, who got a few starts as a freshman.
Ehlinger will be meeting up with one of those young fans, who wrote a paper for homework on the young signal-caller.
My son wrote his school paper “If I could meet anybody in the world” on Texas Longhorns QB Sam Ehlinger! @sehlinger3 @bevobeat @jonatha16712267 #StaarTestEssay #HookEm #4thGrade #SamEhlinger pic.twitter.com/s5Izaq4tUa

Ehlinger threw for 1,915 yards in limited time in his first season as the Longhorns’ quarterback. He completed 57.5 percent of his passes and ran for 385 yards as well. Ehlinger also threw 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He is still in a a quarterback competition with junior-to-be Shane Buechele,
With a rejuvenated offensive line, the Longhorns will be looking to correct their offensive struggles from 2017. They don’t appear to have any leadership struggles though, especially with Ehlinger leading the charge.
