CBS Sports analyst Pete Gillen sees a bright future for UCLA guard Aaron Holiday in the NBA.
“I love Aaron Holiday as a point guard. He’s an alpha dog on offense and defense,” Gillen said on CBS Sports. “He’s got toughness, he’s got grit and he got the UCLA Bruins into the NCAA Tournament.”
Gillen’s thoughts echoed the sentiments expressed by UCLA coach Steve Alford last season. The CBS Sports analyst then took his praise of Holiday a step future and predicted guard’s NBA potential.
“I think he’s an outstanding player. He can knock down the three, he can get into the lane and he can create. He’s a fabulous player,” Gillen added. “He’s gonna be a starter one day in the NBA.”
Most mock drafts have Holiday being selected in the 2018 NBA Draft, although the 2018 first-team All-Pac-12 member is considered a fringe first-round pick. It’s going to be interesting to see where Holiday lands. He has two other brothers in the NBA, so he already has NBA bloodlines working in his favor.
Holiday will find out his NBA fate on June 21.
