Jackson Gibbs is headed to Appalachian State.
Gibbs made his transfer from UCLA official on Friday with an announcement on social media.
I'm excited to announce that Im transferring to Appalachian State University! I want to thank all my coaches and teammates who've made me a better football player and overall person this past year. I'm going to miss UCLA deeply but pumped to start my new chapter as a mountaineer! pic.twitter.com/6BZyRsreZI

The 6-foot-1 quarterback was part of UCLA’s 2017 recruiting class.
Gibbs found himself buried on UCLA’s quarterback depth chart with Devon Modster, Matt Lynch, Austin Burton, Wilton Speight and incoming freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson all listed ahead of him. His position in the quarterback room likely led to his decision to leave Westwood.
Appalachian State will be a homecoming of sorts for Gibbs. He is from Davidson, N.C.
