Could a second Ball be coming to the Lakers?
LiAngelo Ball is going to participate in a pre-draft workout with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, per ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. He is the younger brother of Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball.
The Ball family has long had a goal of getting Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo (who is 16 years old) to their hometown team. Lonzo successfully accomplished the first step. The remaining brothers face tougher odds. Yet, Tuesday’s workout is a step in that direction.
LiAngelo recently returned to the United States after playing overseas with LaMelo in Lithuania for Vytautas Prienu. He averaged 12.6 points.
The 6-foot-5 wing player left UCLA during his freshman year while on suspension for a highly publicized shoplifting incident in China.
LiAngelo’s chances of making an NBA roster aren’t great, but he is getting a chance to prove himself in front of professional scouts. As for LaMelo, he must wait a couple of years because of his age.
LiAngelo and LaMelo forfeited their NCAA eligibility when they hired an agent.
