Los Angeles Lakers point guard and 2017 No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball was named the 2017 NBA Summer League’s Most Valuable Player, per Mike Trudell.

The former UCLA Bruin shot 2-of-15 from the field in his NBA debut against the Los Angeles Clippers, but since then has averaged a near triple-double. Ball missed the championship game Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers with a strained right calf, but he finished the NBA Summer League averaging 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game.
