Lakers fans got a taste of what life with Lonzo Ball would be like in the NBA Summer League and after suffering a right calf strain in Sunday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, Ball will sit out during Monday’s championship game against Portland. Spectrum SportsNet’s Mike Trudell announced via Twitter.

Ball said after L.A.’s win over Dallas that he felt tightness in his right calf and sat out for the remainder of the game for precautionary reasons. Monday’s game against the Trail Blazers was a decision for close to game time and the Lakers shut down Ball mid-afternoon.
After shooting 2-of-15 in Ball’s debut, he grabbed headlines with his shoe carousel of globally popular brands in Nike, Adidas, Air Jordan and Under Armour Steph Curry’s that aren’t in stores yet.
Although trying to figure out what shoes Ball will wear every night has been the hot topic of discussion, he hasn’t failed to contribute averaging 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game.
