UCLA quarterback Devon Modster had an inconsistent practice on Tuesday.
Modster didn’t have a good session throwing the football in spring practice No. 10 for the Bruins. According to the Daily News’ Thuc Nhi Nguyen, Modster misfired on several throws.
“[Devon Modster] didn’t have his best day handling some of the shorter throws. When he got a chance at a longer shot, he overthrew it. He missed back-to-back throws of about 15 to 20 yards to [wide receiver] Theo Howard in a team period. They were similar plays and the first one was almost intercepted by [cornerback] Darnay Holmes and the second left Howard shaken after [safety] Adarius Pickett came over and put a big hit on the receiver.”
Modster is trying to win UCLA’s starting quarterback job. Tuesday didn’t help his case. DieHards stated that Modster and incoming freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson are the frontrunners to become the Bruins’ next starting quarterback.
