UCLA has room for Speight’s because former transfer K.J. Carta-Samuels flipped from UCLA to Colorado State.
Speight threw for 3,192 yards and 22 touchdowns in three seasons at Michigan. He started 16 games, including the first four games of 2017 before breaking three vertebrae in the Wolverines game against Purdue. As a graduate transfer, he would be eligible to play immediately for UCLA. The Bruins must replace Josh Rosen, who has entered the NFL draft, at quarterback.
