It is possible that USC basketball coach Andy Enfield’s savviest recruiting move for the next two seasons has nothing to do with prospects, but with a 6-foot-6 former professional basketball player.
Eric Mobley played overseas before settling in Southern California. What makes him relevant to the college game are his two sons, Evan and Isaiah, standouts at Rancho Cucamonga High School.
Evan is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 4 prospect in the Class of 2020, while Isaiah is No. 22 for the Class of 2019. With that type of clout, where they attend college is no small matter to many people.
On Saturday, where they play next may have been determined.
247Sports reported that Enfield hired Mobley as an assistant coach, and though it’s far from certain his sons will follow him to USC, the Trojans didn’t hurt their chances.
