Former USC wideout De’Quan Hampton has signed with the New Orleans Saints, per the NFL transaction wire.
Hampton transferred from Long Beach City College, and accumulated 22 total receptions in his two-year stint with the Trojans.
His best performance at USC came in a big crosstown showdown against UCLA, as he had three catches for 51 yards and two touchdowns in last season’s rivalry game.
The 6-foot-4 wideout did not get selected in the 2017 NFL Draft, and is now hoping that resume won’t obstruct him from making the Saints’ roster when the season starts. Given New Orleans’ deep receiving corps, Hampton will certainly face an uphill battle.
