Former USC big man Dewayne Dedmon has cashed in on free agency.
The seven-foot center has bounced around the league over his first three seasons, playing with the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs.
Last season with the Spurs, Dedmon averaged career-highs in points (5.1) and rebounds (4.8) while playing 17.5 minutes per game. Now with the Hawks, Dedmon has a chance to play big minutes after the team jettisoned Dwight Howard and lost Paul Millsap in free agency this offseason.
Dedmon spent two seasons at USC after transferring from Antelope Valley. He averaged 6.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and 1.1 steals per game in his final campaign with the Trojans during the 2012-13 season. He opted to forgo his final year of eligibility in favor of the 2013 NBA Draft.
