Ronald Jones is making a good impression on his new team.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted Jones in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of USC. Most second-round picks are expected to have an impact in their first season and that’s the expectation for the former Trojans running back.
“[Ronald Jones’] speed and explosiveness are two traits that are easy to see. He’s not afraid to put his head down,” Buccaneers director of player personnel John Spytek said on NFL Network. “He’ll run through you.”
Jones is slated to share running back duties with third-year pro Peyton Barber, but the Bucs aren’t ruling out a starting opportunity for the USC product. Thus far, Jones is performing well in Tampa Bay’s offseason program.
