The USC Trojans are blazing hot on the basketball recruiting trail, with coach Andy Enfield landing his third-high profile recruit in less than a week.
On Sunday, 4-star shooting guard committed to the Trojans. He announced his decision on Twitter:
— Kevin Porter Jr (@Kid_Groovy) July 2, 2017
Porter is the No. 71 rated prospect according to 247 Sports. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound wing picked the Trojans over offers from a slew of other PAC-12 schools, including Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA and Washington.
His announcement comes days after USC landed 4-star power forwards J’Raan Brooks (Garfield HS/Seattle) and Taeshon Cherry (St. Augustine/San Diego, CA). Cherry is the No. 39 player in the 2018 class according to 247 composite.
That trio has vaulted Enfield’s 2018 recruiting class to No. 2 in the country, behind Arkansas. With a bevy of starters returning, and USC being a thought of as a contender for the PAC-12 next season, things on the other side of L.A. are certainly looking up in the hoops world.
