Oddsmakers believe the USC Trojans could make a deep run during the 2018 season.
The Trojans have 40-1 odds to win the national championship this year, according to updated odds from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. The Trojans are tied for the ninth-best odds in the field and the second-best odds in the Pac-12.

ESPN’s Football Power Index isn’t as high on the Trojans in 2018. FPI favors Southern Cal in nine of their 12 games. The FPI also gives USC a 25.4 percent chance to win the Pac-12 title and a 0.3 percent chance of going undefeated.
The Trojans open the 2018 season on Sept. 1 against UNLV.
