Virginia Tech football linebacker Tavante Beckett was suspended Tuesday by the program without explanation.
As it turns out, the reason came from a legal situation. The Roanoke Times reported that Beckett was charged with possession of marijuana and conspiracy to sell/distribute marijuana on Monday, which restyled in his suspension.
The Hokies suspended Beckett indefinitely from all team activities Tuesday.
According to the Roanoke Times, “the conspiracy to sell/distribute charge is a Class 5 felony, which triggers an automatic suspension until it is resolved, per Virginia Tech athletic department policy.”
